MICROSITE FOR CDC FOUNDATION’S DONOR REPORT

At the beginning of 2020, I designed a microsite for CDC Foundations 2019 donor report while working at Toolbox No. 9. The microsite covers the same areas each year, providing overviews of their programs, accomplishments, and messages. My task was to build off of the previous year to reskin the UI and improve the experiences.

BACKGROUND

Since 2015, Toolbox No. 9 has been designing and developing the CDC Foundation Online Donor Report microsite that outlines their accomplishments, programs, and donations.

The CDC Foundation (CDCF) is the nonprofit partner that works in conjunction with the CDC to make lasting improvements in the world. Every year they report to the government and their donors on financial earnings, spendings, and the success of their programs. The CDC Foundation uses this report as marketing collateral to promote the work they have completed and increase awareness of their programs through a Donor Report microsite.

For the 2019 Donor Report, I was challenged with improving upon what was done the previous years while maintaining minimal hours due to budget.

I brainstormed with the lead developer to find improvements that could be made within the budget hours and timeline that would greatly improve the site's experience. We determined reducing changes to the structure and making small CSS changes would provide the development team more hours to work on animations and interactions.

By building off of previous years’ structural foundation, the 2019 Donor Report had an improved interactive experience that could be built upon again for 2020.
